We are off to a great start in themarket for 2021. The market hasalready priced 2.5% for the S&P 500,4.28% for the Nasdaq, and 1.85% forthe Dow Jones of gains for the firstthree weeks of 2021. In addition, themarket has priced out a lot of theuncertainties from 2020. The start ofthe 2021 market, has the same feelingas the beginning of the Obamaadministration with the aftermath ofthe financial crisis, but instead, wehave a health crisis. Unsurprisingly, wehave the federal reserve giving theblessing of low-interest rates andpotential for additional quantitativeeasing.
Throughout history, the market hasfavored a democratic president, dueto fiscal spending via infrastructureand social well-being. The market iscurrently pricing a phenomenal 4-year term, thus why the market is hitting all-time highs already in2021. The market is a forecast of thefuture, not that the future can bepredicted, but it does take intoconsideration similarities andcommon characteristics. At thebeginning of the Obamaadministration on, January 20, 2009,through January 20, 2017, the S&P500 grew 171%, the Nasdaq grew264% and the Dow Jones grew147%!
We highly suggest adding funds to your current portfolio. If you have beenwaiting to put money to work, start adding to starter positions to get back intothe market. The market has just started to grow, it is not too late to add intopositions. Adding funds even in an upmarket is prudent, as long as you haveselling rules in place to preserve capital for market pullbacks. Take advantageat all levels, as there is always trade or a position that fits the marketconditions.
